Former WYSO Alum Ken Woods to Conduct UW Orchestra

On Nov. 2nd in Mills Hall, Madison Native Kenneth Woods will be returning from Wales to conduct internationally-known violinist, Rachel Barton-Pine, with the UW-Madison Orchestra. They will be performing the Brahms Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 77. They will also be performing The Gale of Life composed by Philip Sawyers and Symphony No. 5, op. 47 composed by Dmitri Shostakovich. Ken Woods is a Memorial High School graduate and an alumnus of WYSO and UW-Madison. He is now the Artistic Director and the Principal Conductor of the English Symphony Orchestra.
