Musical Notes: whether you’re writing letters or selling raffle tickets, we hope your fundraising for WYSO has been fun and successful! Here are some ways to meet your $150 fundraising goal:

·         Sell raffle tickets for a trip to London or Paris (winner’s choice!). Tickets are $10 each, or three for $25. The raffle ticket turn-in date is March 4, 2018 and the drawing will be held at the Winterfest concerts on March 10th, 2018. Pick up raffle tickets at the WYSO office and pay after they’ve been sold. Remember, every dollar of raffle tickets sold goes towards your Musical Notes goal!

An Evening with The Kissers, Brink Lounge, January 26th, 2018: tickets are now available for the fifth annual Evening With the Kissers fundraiser. The entire family will enjoy this Parent Leader fundraiser featuring Madison’s premier Irish band, The Kissers. The evening also includes pizza, a raffle, a silent auction, trivia, door prizes, and more. Tickets are $20 per person in advance (available Saturdays) or $25 at the door. Kids 18 and under are $10 with an adult ticket purchase. Proceeds benefit the Musical Notes fundraiser. For more information, or to buy tickets online, please click here.

Volunteer Opportunities:

·         The Parent Leader Corner (Strelow Lounge on Saturdays from 9-noon) is seeking volunteers to donate bagels and to assist in staffing the Parent Leader booth. This is a great way to learn what the Parent Leader Committee is all about! If interested, please sign up here.

·         If you have an hour or so to spare on Saturdays, the WYSO Music Makers team could use a helping hand. Their biggest need at this time is setting up the snack table around 12:30 pm. WYSO Music Makers rehearse every Saturday at Memorial United Church of Christ at 5705 Lacy Road in Fitchburg. If you’re interested in helping out, please contact Juliana Mesa-Jaramillo.

Gil Shaham Plays Tchaikovsky: we hope WYSO members will attend international violin superstar Gil Shaham’s performances with the Madison Symphony this weekend. If you do attend, be sure to check out WYSO’s Interim Music Director, Randal Swiggum, presenting a 30 minute interactive and fun prelude discussion one hour prior to each performance. Mr. Swiggum’s discussions will talk about the tools for listening to great symphonic music. Learn more about the concerts and prelude discussions by clicking here.
