2019 Chamber Music Camp

Apply for Chamber Music Camp Here!

130-Chamber1415ksOur five-day summer Chamber Music Camp is designed for young musicians ages 11 to 18 who are interested in developing their performance and preparation skills with peers in a fun and relaxed setting.

Playing one’s own part in smaller ensembles benefits the experience learned in orchestral playing. Listening and communication skills are some of the many facets of playing in a chamber ensemble that will have a direct impact on how one plays in an orchestra. Working with peers, under the guidance of a coach, provides an opportunity to have a voice in how music is prepared and performed. Whether a first time chamber musician or an experienced player in a small ensemble, there is a place for everyone in our program.

Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 19, 2019

Rehearsal Techniques

With one person per part, coaches will lead the groups and encourage input from all participants in their own music making.

Instrumental Techniques

The camp coaches are some of the finest musicians and educators int he area and will help to improve instrumental technique through daily master classes and/or instrument classes.

Camp counselors will lead campers in recreational activities such as soccer, hiking, swimming, Frisbee, volleyball, and/or scavenger hunts.

On the final day, perform with your new friends in a concert for your family and the public.
