WYSO Alumna Lucille Goeres to work with WYSO Flutes

During rehearsal this Sunday WYSO Flutes will spend a bit of time in a coaching by Lucy Goeres, WYSO alumna and freelance musician based in NYC. This coaching is a special part of our 50th Anniversary season. We’re honored to have distinguished alumni return to provide outstanding educational opportunities.

Lucille Goeres (flutes) is a graduate of The Juilliard School where she studied with Julius Baker. She is a member of the Long Island Philharmonic, the Queens Symphony and New York Grand Opera. An active freelance player, she also performs with the New Jersey Symphony, New York City Opera, New York City Ballet, Lake George Opera and the Bronx Arts Ensemble. Ms. Goeres gave the world premiere performance of In Freundschaft for solo flute by Karlheinz Stockhausen and recently premiered Lightscapes by David Froom, with performances at the University of Maryland, St. Mary’s, and in Toronto, Canada. Her involvement with the study of ethnic flute music and techniques has led her to be a frequent substitute as solo flute for The Lion King. She has recorded with the New Jersey Symphony, the Bronx Arts Ensemble and the New York Flute Club.
