Position:              Brass Choirs Program Director

The Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra seeks a Director of the Brass Choirs Program.

Brass Choir is required for all brass players in the three WYSO full orchestras.  Comprised of musicians in the 5th through 12th grades, Brass Choirs are divided into three sessions by ability and rehearse Saturday mornings, 8-10am during the academic year.

Founded in 1966 by Marvin Rabin, the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras is widely regarded as one of the top youth orchestra programs in the country.   Over 5500 young musicians from more than 100 communities in southern and central Wisconsin have participated in the program.  The WYSO program includes three full orchestras, a string orchestra, brass, percussion and harp ensembles and a chamber music program.  Driven by the mission of enriching lives by providing transformational musical experiences and opportunities, WYSO provides the finest orchestral training and performance opportunities to the regions most talented young musicians.

Compensation:  $7,000 to $9,000

Application Procedure:

Applicants should submit a personal letter of interest, resume and two letters of professional recommendation.    Finalists will be invited to rehearse the choirs.
